There are several steps involved in ordering Flex-Tags. An overview of the step-by-step process is outlined below. We hope these explanations will be informative and guide you comfortably through the process. Be sure to follow the links for illustrative photos. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Our staff is always ready to answer your questions and guide you through the process.
STEP 1 - PROVIDE ARTWORK
You will need vector artwork of your logo, preferably as an .eps file. It should be clearly marked with PMS colors and should look something like this.
STEP 2 - THINK ABOUT SIZING
If you plan to use Flex-tag on shirts, caps or jackets, we recommend a size no larger than 3.5" or 4" wide at most. If you want a versatile size that will work on several items, try to stick with 2.5" to 3" for your widest measurement. When requesting a quote or placing an order, we will ask what are your plans are and help guide you to the best possible size for your situation.
STEP 3 - ADDING TEXTURE AND DIMENSION....OR NOT
We have several textures (aka Patterns) available for you to choose from to help enhance areas of your design and make it truly unique. These are a few of our most popular textures, but you can feel free to make up your own as well. Some patterns may not be well suited to your design.
You may choose to have parts of your design completely smooth and parts of it textured, or you may have the whole design either textured or smooth. You can also choose to add 3D characteristics to your design as well. Depths vary from .4mm to 2mm. All lettering should be a minimum of .08" tall (approx. 1/32" tall). The artwork below shows a depth map on the left and a texture and color map on the right.
STEP 4 - CHOOSE YOUR BACKING
HEAT SEAL - Suggested for application to cotton, polyester, cotton/poly blends, performance fabrics and many more smooth fabrics. Please discuss usage before ordering. May not adhere well to some surfaces.
WP HEAT SEAL - This is a heat seal for water proof, water repellent or coated fabrics only.
STICKER - This is a semi-permanent backing that allows the Flex-tag to be applied and later removed from almost any surface. Although this can be removed from most surfaces, removal may damage the Flex-tag and/or surface underneath. This backing is recommended for plastics, metal, glass, wood or leather applications.
If heat sealing Flex-tags to a product for the first time, we recommend sending a sample to Emblem Concepts prior to ordering for application testing as instructions vary from product to product. We recommend all application be performed by Emblem Concepts due to the 3D nature of these products, excessive or incorrect application can easily damage Flex-Tags.
